Language Proficiency
My training experiences include:
- the study of English since I was 8
- graduating from a school where the specialist subject is English
- a two-year course in Medical English from Ryazan State Medical University
- extensive travel outside of my country and used English to converse in other
countries
- I have visited the United Stated three times since 1998. My sister lives in
Oregon and teaches English there. You may ask her and her American husband
about my language skills. Their e-mail address is w.kniep@comcast.net
- I often communicate over the phone and correspond via e-mail with my American
friends in English
I am also aware of the discrepancy in the way medical records are worded in the
Russian medical language and in the English medical language. It is common that
an American doctor or n adoptive client may not quite understand what a Russian
pediatrician meant when making medical records. Sometimes a translation of some
medical information about a child may contain mistakes and causes
misunderstanding because it is done by someone who does not know medical
terminology or specifics of it in either language. In this case my services of
a Russian IA doctor may prove to be very helpful. I will make sure that the
written information you are getting about your child is accurate. I will help
you communicate with an orphanage doctor as well. I will make sure all your
questions relating to the health of your child are answered and addressed. I
will be absolutely honest and straightforward with you regarding the health of
your child.
